Do you have an item that you think would be perfect for the museum?

Our Collections Mandate:

What we collect: Pembina Lobstick Historical Society collects artefacts in good condition, photographs and archival materials relating to the rural past of Entwistle and Evansburg and the surrounding area. In particular, we focus on the railway development, coal mining, agriculture, lumbering and cultural aspects of the people living past and present in this area.

The borders of Tipple Park Museum’s collecting area  are defined as the area between Range Road 63 to the east, Highway 753 to the west, the border of Lac Ste. Anne County to the north, and the border of Brazeau County to the south. The time period covered is from the early 1900s through to the present.Exceptions can be made for rare artefacts not exclusive to the local area. This is subject to the Museum’s ability to preserve, document and store those artefacts, and then share the stories and educate the community.

The yellow lines show the boundaries of our collecting area.

Steps for making a donation:

  1. Contact the museum. Email is a good way to reach out, as you can send photos. Alternatively, you can bring donations to the museum. If you do, we ask that you fill out the Temporary Receipt, which includes your contact information and information about the item(s). Please do not leave anonymous drop-offs outside the museum.
  2. Collections Committee: Our Collections Committee will decide whether to accept or decline your item. The Committee meets once every three months. Decisions are made based on relevance to our community, size and condition of the objects, and whether the item is a duplicate of something already in the collection.
  3. Pick up items or sign the Certificate of Gift. When a decision has been made, we will contact you by phone or email. If the Committee decides to accept an item, we ask that you sign a Certificate of Gift, which permanently transfers ownership to Tipple Park Museum. If the donation is declined, we ask that you retrieve the item(s) or inform us that we may dispose of them for you.
